It's Been a Long Time Coming

It's hard to believe that it's May already...time really does fly.  As stability is looking more and more like something that is actually going to be attainable, I've started to enjoy bullet points.  I think I'll stick with them for a while; they really do keep things tidy.

  • I cannot articulate just how happy we are to report that Andy has been completely off of steroids for eight days now!  I know that it's still early, but that is such huge an answer to prayer!  He had been on them for over a year and a half, and his body really could use the rest.
  • If things remain calm, he will have another set of MRIs on June 2nd.  They want to make sure that there are no new lesions and or signs of active spinal cord inflammation now that he isn't on Prednisone.
  • Last week they rechecked his B-cells, again, and he still doesn't have any!  The Rituxan really does seem to be doing its job.  They'll recheck again in July.  It's nice to know (from the last post) that his next infusion is approved, but we're happy to put it off as long as we safely can.  Again, his body can use the break and a period of rest.
We have mostly the same/similar prayer requests as we've had before, but I'll share them again nonetheless.
  • Pray for him as he manages his permanent, daily issues.  While he is light years better than he has been in the past, there are still unseen symptoms that he has on a daily basis and it does get discouraging from time to time.
  • Pray that he is indeed able to stay off of steroids.  That would be a huge win.
  • Pray for God's timing on the next infusion.  We want to wait as long as possible, yet not so long that any inflammation arises and does damage.
  • Pray specifically for his energy levels in regards to work.  He just moved into a new role that brings new responsibilities.  While that's fantastic, fatigue is his constant companion now so we are praying that he does well during this period of adjustment and the details of the new position are sorted out.
As always, we're ever thankful for those of you who have chosen to walk this road with us.  Your care and support mean the world to us and sustain us through both the happy and the trying times.
